How the Spark's job changes across five Resonances in SPECTR
By Yuri Gala
The first job in SPECTR is easy to see: strike the Core, move the Spark through the falling shards and buy a machine. As production and collection grow, machines take on more of that work. Each Resonance then adds something else to do around the same crystal.
Those new actions change where attention goes. A timing window, a ripe vine and a choice of beam target ask for different decisions while the production system keeps running.

R1: catch the Heat window
After the first Resonance, Heat gives the player a timed action. Releasing it inside the ideal window produces a stronger, longer boost than an early release. The choice is when to act as the gauge rises.
That adds a rhythm alongside buying machines. You can watch production develop, then use a well-timed release to give it a temporary push.
R2: watch the clearing below the Core
Vines introduce a second kind of timing. They grow in the clearing below the Core, ripen and offer a harvest window. Picking a naturally ripe vine in that window earns its ideal harvest.
The interaction has its own place in the scene. The Spark moves from the central crystal to the clearing, while production and automated collection continue around it. A ripe crop gives the player a reason to look beyond the shop.
R3: choose where the beam goes
The Resonator adds a targeting decision. Its beam can stay in a network configuration or focus on an eligible connected building. Focusing the Greenhouse also speeds up vine growth, so the choice can affect the rhythm of harvesting as well as production.
This makes the current arrangement of machines relevant. The target needs a real connection, and changing focus has a cooldown. The player chooses a role for the Resonator within the system they have built.
R4: bring precise actions together
Alloy connects earlier interactions. Ideal Heat releases and naturally ideal harvests fill its meter; catching a beam discharge also contributes. A full meter lets the player trigger an Alloy Flash for a burst of income and a temporary boost.
A clean sequence of precise actions can extend the next Flash. The player can coordinate those windows around the next Flash.
Dawn and the next degree of automation
Five Resonances lead to Dawn, the main story ending. Continued progression and collections remain available afterwards.
At this stage, the valley can also handle unused Heat and harvest windows with smaller automatic rewards. An optional perk offers earlier help with vines from R2 and Heat from R3. Manual actions retain priority, and ideal manual actions continue to feed Alloy.
The player can therefore hand over routine work in stages while keeping timed actions available. The Spark begins by gathering individual shards and gradually gains decisions about timing, targeting and coordination.
